Here's the text we used to announce the W5YR Foxtravaganza - Thursday, March 31, 2005! Okay, our regular season is over, yet the desire for Peltii is still strong. So, we've decided to host a 'Foxtravaganza' as a final, fun thank-you to all participants in addition to a fond farewell to someone who excelled as a Hound, a ham, and a human being - George Baker, W5YR, SK. He will be sorely missed, but will live on in each of us, and we'll help remember him by having Fox Hunting Fun - George'd like that. As many Foxii as are available will be active for this one event. All Foxii will operate generally as in a typical Hunt, BUT! The Foxii may QSY at will, anywhere from 7.030 to 7.060 MHz.(That was: 7.060 MHz.) The Foxii may work simplex or split, and can change from one to the other as conditions, or their whim, dictates.

AND! You can get two Peltii from each Fox!!! That's right, there will be Hunt 1, from 0200-0259Z, then Hunt 2, from 0300-0359Z. Results won't be posted on the website, but all the Foxii will post their logs afterwards, and they'll be separated into these two groups. Soapbox comments will be posted on the website. It looks as though there will be a lot of Fox participation, so dealing with crowded conditions might create a whole new kind of fun! (one way to look at it, eh?) As the event nears, a list of all Foxii will be posted here, and on the lists. Roger J. Wendell WBØJNR (WB0JNR) QRP Fox Hunt Webmaster http://www.qrpfoxhunt.org http://www.rogerwendell.com
